Ceanothus ‘Trewithen Blue’ – 3 litre pot

Ceanothus ‘Trevithen Blue’ is a large, evergreen shrub that forms masses of fragrant, deep blue flowers in late spring and early summer. The leaves are ovate, shiny and emerald-green in colour.

Ceanothus are known for their impressive flower displays. They add fantastic fragrance to your garden and are perfect for attracting pollinators. Ceanothus can also be trained to grow along walls and fences.

Care Instructions:
– For best results, plant in the spring when the soil is no longer frozen. If you buy container-grown plants in the summer, plant as soon as possible. Plant in full sun position ideally sheltered from strong winds. If your soil is waterlogged or poorly drained, this may cause damage to the plant.
– Adequate watering is essential after planting, and the soil should be kept consistently moist to ensure the plant establishes well. Once established, Ceanothus are fairly drought-resistant and should not require regular watering (depending on the condition of your soil.)
– Deadheading is not necessary but faded flowers should be removed to maintain the appearance of the plant.
– Feeding in the spring is not necessary, but will help to encourage new growth. Feed with a balanced feed using 50g to 80g per square metre of soil. Feeding does not have to be done regularly.
– Ceanothus can be trained and tied in along the walls and fences. If you intend to train your plant you will need to prune regularly and tie in new shoots to provide support.
