Otter Garden Centres are looking for an enthusiastic Data Analysis/Merchandiser Apprentice to join our Buying Team.

This is a new and exciting role aimed at those looking to kickstart their career as a Merchandiser / Data Analyst.

As a Merchandiser / Data Analyst Apprentice, you will play a key role in helping us analyse data within sales and stock management.

This is a unique opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced environment, working closely with our experienced team of buyers to build and grow Otter’s sales and profit margins.

Throughout your apprenticeship, you will receive training and mentorship, giving you the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in data analysis and merchandising

Requirements

Duties will include:
  • Producing stock & sales reports, analysing the numbers and produce a report across multiple departments and branches.
  • Actioning price changes and ensuring these are updated and information sent to stores.
  • Collating and extracting data
  • Monitor stock and sales data on a weekly basis across departments.
  • Pulling data on supplier’s value of sales against orders placed
  • Producing a data report on best performing suppliers within the business and % of contribution to profit.
  • Assist in analysing competitor pricing
  • Answer any store enquiries.
  • Manage continued communication with stores.
  • Work with Buyer to maintain stock levels
  • Place repeat orders with suppliers
  Skills Required:
  • Interest in Data Analysis/Merchandising: A genuine passion for Data Analysis & Merchandising and a desire to pursue a career in this field.
  • Understanding of Excel: Able to work confidently with excel and manipulate data
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written skills to effectively convey messages.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to ensure accuracy and quality in all data.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with others in the Buying Team.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Customer Focus: Understanding the importance of being commercial.
  • Willingness to Learn: Eagerness to develop new skills and adapt to different data and merchandising functions.

Hours

Monday – Friday. 9am – 5pm.

Including 1 day a week at Exeter College.
