We are recruiting for a full time and part time customer service assistant to work in our hardy plants department.

A good level of plant knowledge is essential for this role.

Duties will include serving customers with garden plants, merchandising stock in line with company guidelines, using tills, assisting customers by taking their purchases to their vehicle if required (will involve heavy lifting).

We require the ideal candidate to be able to work well in a team, have good plant knowledge, have excellent customer service and communication skills and work to a high standard.

Requirements

  • Plant Knowledge: A good level of knowledge about plants is essential.
  • Customer Service Skills: Must have excellent communication skills and a friendly, helpful approach to assisting customers.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work well as part of a team in a busy retail environment.
  • Physical Fitness: The role involves some heavy lifting, such as assisting customers with loading purchases into their vehicles.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensure stock is well presented and merchandised in line with company guidelines.
  • Till Operation: Confidence in handling transactions and using the till system (training will be provided).
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work weekends and bank holidays as required.

Hours

We are recruiting for 2 permanent roles.

Full time Horticultural Sales Assistant, Sunday to Thursday.

Part time Horticultural Sales Assistant, we are flexible on the working days and happy to agree on a schedule with the right candidate.
