Charcoal
Charcoal is a hugely popular fuel, thanks to the authentic smokey flavour it adds to your food. Charcoal provides steady heat, allowing you to sear your steaks fast, slow-cook big pieces of meat, or apply indirect grilling techniques to prepare unique and delicious meals.
Charcoal barbecues are typically designed to be space-efficient and suitable for any type of garden. Among the most popular designs are the kettle barbecues, which feature spacious circular cooking grills and stylish finishes. Portable grills are also available and the perfect choice for taking on holidays or day trips with family.*
When it comes to charcoal, there are various types to choose from. The two most common types are lumpwood charcoal and briquettes. Lumpwood charcoal is made from high-quality wood and is easy to light up. Briquettes are a compressed form of charcoal that ignites quickly and burns for longer, giving you more time to cook!
Gas
From the grill to your plate in a flash! With gas barbecues, you can enjoy the convenience of cooking without compromising on taste. The burners are simple and fast to ignite and provide consistent heat, giving you the flexibility to cook various dishes. Managing the heat is effortless, helping you cook your food perfectly every time!
We offer a wide range of gas barbecues in various styles, with 2 to 6 burners with ample cooking space to suit your needs. If you’re looking for something portable, compact gas barbecues use smaller gas cartridges and are ideal for camping trips.*
If you want the best of both charcoal and gas, we now offer a selection of hybrid fuel barbecues. If you prefer charcoal grilling, you can easily add charcoal to the trays and use the burners to light them up. If you prefer gas grilling, just remove the charcoal trays and cook using the burners as usual. You can even use both fuel types simultaneously to cook multiple dishes at once – with charcoal on one side and gas on the other.
Accessories
You’ve got the barbecue. Now you need the accessories! We offer all the essential tools and covers, as well as additional cookware that can help you improve your skills. Our poultry roasters are great for slow-cooking whole joints and all the trimmings, while our pizza stones allow you to quickly create delicious stone-baked pizzas.
If you have a barbecue coming up, make sure you are stocked up on the fuel of your choice. We offer both lumpwood charcoal and briquettes that provide consistent heat. Additionally, we have gas cartridges for smaller portable barbecues and larger gas cartridges for gas barbeques. Please contact your nearest Otter Garden Centre to confirm stock availability before visiting as it may vary at each location.
*When taking your barbecue on the go, make sure to check the rules for your destination before you leave. Rules and restrictions are different for each location, and barbecues may be prohibited for health and safety reasons. Always make sure you are aware of the dangers of barbecuing in public spaces, especially during heatwaves.
