Otter Garden Centre in Ottery St Mary is delighted to announce a total of over £3,300 raised for charity of the year, Brain Tumour Support.
The figure was achieved through a variety of fundraising activities, including the annual Christmas Wish Tree and collection cans at till points. The Otter team also put together a number of staff events such as quiz and bingo evenings which were all well supported.
Louise Gallard, head of fundraising at the charity visited the Ottery store with volunteer Jeanette Hackwell to meet with some of the charity team. She explained that the donation will be used to fund 66 specialists counselling sessions for clients.
The counselling service provides a confidential and secure place for people living with a brain tumour to discuss any feelings or issues that they may find difficult to handle.
